Communication workshop for Alexander teachers.

Understand and engage with your students on a deeper level.

Next course:  13 and 14 April and 20 and 21 April 2024.

All four sessions start at 3:30pm London time, 16:30h Berlin time. We'll finish 2 – 2.5 hrs. later.

This workshop aims to heighten your abilities for an empathetic and sensitive spoken exchange while teaching the AT. The sessions will give you...

- skills to become more aware of what your client is experiencing

- abilities to gently verbalise those experiences

- heightened understanding of thoughts/feelings/emotions and moods of the people you work with.

- the ability to pinpoint what was most useful for someone in a lesson.

- skills for navigating challenging situations.

The workshop is an introduction to Carl Rogers’ person-centred communication and the three 'Rogers - variables': empathy, authenticity (congruence) and unconditional positive regard (being non-judgemental).

The person-centred framework has become known for these three variables and found to benefit personal development and our tendency to self-actualize. Read more about this in Henry George's blog.

We will work in theory and practice to become acquainted with Rogers’ variables and use a creative approach to improve our ability to understand what someone else is experiencing. Max. six participants.
